Trough several interviews, we looked for the concerns and real "pain points" of the pet owners about their travel experiences with pets. Asking the critical questions is important. Therefore, we also practiced playing different roles in interviews and gain basic skills during this part.
After looking through the collected information, we narrowed users’ needs down to 4 main points, and further concluded a point of view (POV):
Pet owner who wants to stay out overnight with their pets NEEDS a more simplified and efficient way to prepare, BECAUSE the proportion of efforts he or she paid and the happiness he or she gain IS IMPORTANT.
It’s time to find solutions. We tried to accept all possibilities, and get more creative ideas by thinking under various identities.
Via combinations and updates, we got 5 proposals. According to quadrant analysis, we found out the most qualified option: a website designed for pet travelers that contains plenty of information about pet-friendly itineraries and other assistive functions.
Fast is better than slow. After the final decision was made up, we started to make the prototype right away. We simply used paper, stickers, and magnets to build a “physical website” in 40 minutes, and brought it to testing section.
Previous interviewees and other pet tried out and gave feedbacks, and we make instant upgrade before next tester came. The iterative processes between prototyping and testing improve our product and make it more practical.
